Let’s celebrate Earth Day together!

Today, April 22, 2016, marks the 46th annual Earth Day, thanks to Gaylord Nelson. The U.S. senator of Wisconsin founded Earth Day in 1970, after 20 million people gathered in the streets of America to protest the Industrial Revolution. The environmental movement was born as a result, and Earth Day became recognized worldwide in 1990. Here at Leafscape, it’s almost obligatory we post about Earth Day! Trees and plants are kind of our thing, as you can see. We believe it’s important to help preserve our planet, and our local economy. Here are several actions we can take, to help you observe Earth Day year-round:

1. Bring The Outside In

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to bring in some beautiful greenery from outside? We believe there’s no better pick-me-up for an uninspired space. Our Green Team can help you pick the plants that will fit best in your home or business. Tropical trees and blooming bromeliads are excellent choices.

2. Support Local

We’ve been proudly serving Arkansas since 1980. We understand the climate, but more importantly, we understand the client. Using Leafscape not only supports your local economy, it also tries to be as “green” as possible when sourcing our products.

3. Clean Your Air

The addition of a plant to your space can bring fresh air too! For a 100- to 150- square-foot room, you should have two to three full-sized, potted plants to keep the air fresh. As we touched on in our last blog post, plants improve your work environment! Our Green Team can provide your space with plants that will comfortably fit your space while purifying the air.

4. Plant A Tree

Let us do all the heavy lifting for you (literally)! Whether you have a large or small space to fill, our horticulture experts take care of the installation, maintenance and clean up! All you have to do is pick up the phone and give us a call.

Happy Earth Day!
